Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Textile & Leather, Telecoms and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Bagfas (IS:BAGFS), which rose 3.04% or 0.39 points to trade at 13.21 at the close. Erbosan (IS:ERBOS) added 2.82% or 0.96 points to end at 35.06 and Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER) was up 2.24% or 0.88 points to 40.22 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kordsa Global (IS:KORDS), which lost 5.06% or 0.25 points to trade at 4.69 in late trade. Goltas Cimento (IS:GOLTS) declined 4.59% or 3.55 points to end at 73.75 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) shed 4.35% or 0.010 points to 0.220.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 273 to 131 and 4 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 1.55% or 16.60 to $1090.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 5.45% or 1.70 to hit $29.50 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 4.65% or 1.44 to trade at $29.45 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.83% to 3.0479, while EUR/TRY rose 1.78% to 3.3444.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.54% at 98.58.
