Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Financials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 1.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banif SA (LS:BANIF), which rose 31.82% or 0.0007 points to trade at 0.0029 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 5.90% or 0.0210 points to end at 0.3770 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was up 5.17% or 0.0560 points to 1.1390 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which lost 0.91% or 0.0210 points to trade at 2.2990 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 0.08% or 0.0080 points to end at 9.7720 and REN (LS:RENE) gained 0.22% or 0.0060 points to 2.7770.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 37 to 15 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 0.07% or 0.04 to $49.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.44% or 0.20 to hit $46.14 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 2.49% or 29.30 to trade at $1146.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.0959, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.7163.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 97.47.
