Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Amadeus IT (MADRID:AMA), which rose 1.57% or 0.578 points to trade at 37.407 at the close. Inditex (MADRID:ITX) added 1.31% or 0.393 points to end at 30.277 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MADRID:TRE) was up 1.23% or 0.510 points to 42.075 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Abengoa B (MADRID:ABGek), which lost 7.73% or 0.070 points to trade at 0.842 in late trade. Sacyr (MADRID:SCYR) declined 2.16% or 0.048 points to end at 2.156 and Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS) shed 2.01% or 0.119 points to 5.809.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 108 to 104 and 5 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.44% or 5.00 to $1132.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.91% or 1.31 to hit $46.33 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.95% or 0.93 to trade at $48.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.80% to 1.1209, while EUR/GBP fell 0.54% to 0.7229.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.58% at 95.92.
