Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Food & Beverages and Transportation & Logistics sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.56%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.54%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (XETRA:IFXGn), which rose 3.22% or 0.315 points to trade at 10.090 at the close. Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (XETRA:DPWGn) added 2.41% or 0.575 points to end at 24.480 and Bay.Motoren Werke AG ST (XETRA:BMWG) was up 2.21% or 1.890 points to 87.230 in late trade.
Biggest losers included E.ON SE NA (XETRA:EONGn), which lost 6.15% or 0.527 points to trade at 8.041 in late trade. K & S AG NA O.N. (XETRA:SDFGn) declined 5.17% or 1.835 points to end at 33.630 and RWE AG ST O.N. (XETRA:RWEG) shed 3.31% or 0.390 points to 11.410.
The top performers on the MDAX were Kuka AG (XETRA:KU2G) which rose 4.53% to 74.530, Leoni AG NA O.N. (XETRA:LEOGn) which was up 3.16% to settle at 56.120 and STADA Arzneimittel VNA O.N. (XETRA:STAGn) which gained 2.86% to close at 33.055.
The worst performers were Evonik Industries AG (XETRA:EVKn) which was down 1.79% to 30.490 in late trade, Gerry Weber Internat.O.N. (XETRA:GWIG) which lost 1.47% to settle at 15.055 and Tui AG NA (XETRA:TUIGn) which was down 0.94% to 16.395 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (XETRA:EVTG) which rose 4.21% to 3.909, Dialog Semiconductor (XETRA:DLGS) which was up 3.73% to settle at 45.605 and Aixtron SE NA O.N. (XETRA:AIXGn) which gained 3.37% to close at 6.566.
The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (XETRA:NEKG) which was down 1.52% to 29.545 in late trade, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (XETRA:O2Dn) which lost 0.57% to settle at 5.559 and Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (XETRA:DRWG_p) which was down 0.23% to 82.810 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 401 to 275 and 36 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.97% to 25.83.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.38% or 4.20 to $1103.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.98% or 0.87 to hit $44.87 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.07% or 0.04 to trade at $47.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.44% to 1.1268, while EUR/GBP rose 0.07% to 0.7341.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.42% at 95.79.
