Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology and Travel & Leisure sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB lost 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS), which rose 1.06% or 0.0190 points to trade at 1.8110 at the close. Salvatore Ferragamo (MILAN:SFER) added 0.76% or 0.23 points to end at 30.34 and CNH Industrial NV (MILAN:CNHI) was up 0.65% or 0.055 points to 8.475 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediaset (MILAN:MS), which lost 4.27% or 0.208 points to trade at 4.668 in late trade. Moncler SpA (MILAN:MONC) declined 2.91% or 0.55 points to end at 18.36 and Yoox (MILAN:YOOX) shed 2.23% or 0.68 points to 29.85.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 261 to 193 and 4 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.99% or 0.90 to $44.25 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.28% or 0.64 to hit $48.95 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.53% or 5.80 to trade at $1091.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.0931, while EUR/GBP rose 0.76% to 0.7043.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 97.86.
