Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Services and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 1.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS), which rose 3.98% or 0.377 points to trade at 9.855 at the close. Bankinter (MADRID:BKT) added 1.26% or 0.086 points to end at 6.886 and Amadeus IT (MADRID:AMA) was up 1.08% or 0.440 points to 41.175 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Indra A (MADRID:IDR), which lost 7.18% or 0.750 points to trade at 9.700 in late trade. Telefonica (MADRID:TEF) declined 3.95% or 0.547 points to end at 13.307 and Int.Airl.Grp (MADRID:ICAG) shed 2.69% or 0.212 points to 7.673.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 161 to 50 and 5 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.89% or 10.50 to $1193.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.33% or 1.38 to hit $60.63 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.59% or 1.70 to trade at $67.32 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.83% to 1.1249, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.7168.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.74% at 94.41.
