Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.90%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu), which rose 3.79% or 0.2340 points to trade at 6.4090 at the close. Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) added 2.99% or 0.0002 points to end at 0.0069 and J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT) was up 2.93% or 0.3425 points to 12.0175 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nos SGPS SA (LISBON:NOS), which lost 1.62% or 0.1080 points to trade at 6.5520 in late trade. Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI) declined 0.87% or 0.0125 points to end at 1.4315 and Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) shed 0.51% or 0.0155 points to 3.0245.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 44 to 23 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.33% or 0.21 to $65.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.11% or 0.64 to hit $57.10 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.49% or 17.80 to trade at $1176.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.44% to 1.0871, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.7164.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.36% at 97.08.
