Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Banking and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 fell 0.80%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC), which rose 4.89% or 0.81 points to trade at 17.36 at the close. Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) added 4.83% or 0.58 points to end at 12.60 and Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG) was up 1.00% or 0.06 points to 6.06 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB), which lost 2.98% or 3.99 points to trade at 130.00 in late trade. Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT) declined 2.43% or 0.60 points to end at 24.05 and Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) shed 2.38% or 0.020 points to 0.820.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 12 and 61 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.83% or 0.45 to $54.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.90% or 0.51 to hit $56.07 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.49% or 6.15 to trade at $1257.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 2.35% to 324.350, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 317.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 100.92.
