Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Healthcare and Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 1.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 3.83% or 0.760 points to trade at 20.580 at the close. Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) added 2.95% or 1.680 points to end at 58.560 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was up 2.77% or 0.640 points to 23.770 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which lost 0.73% or 0.180 points to trade at 24.450 in late trade. Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) declined 0.41% or 0.450 points to end at 109.550 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) shed 0.10% or 0.520 points to 513.180.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 149 to 95 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.15% or 1.80 to $1235.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.64% or 0.87 to hit $53.87 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.91% or 1.06 to trade at $56.69 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.04% to 20.3458, while EUR/MXN fell 0.16% to 21.6472.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 100.71.
