Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI), which rose 1.57% or 1.60 points to trade at 103.50 at the close. KBC (BR:KBC) added 1.18% or 0.650 points to end at 55.780 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was up 0.61% or 0.28 points to 47.31 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which lost 3.91% or 0.480 points to trade at 11.805 in late trade. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 2.54% or 0.69 points to end at 26.46 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) shed 2.19% or 2.22 points to 99.33.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 83 to 68 and 10 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.25% or 3.25 to $1276.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.56% or 0.25 to hit $45.14 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.26% or 0.12 to trade at $46.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.1025, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.8911.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 97.92.
