Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Chemicals, Oil & Gas and Food sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.69%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which rose 1.96% or 0.45 points to trade at 23.45 at the close. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 1.43% or 0.07 points to end at 4.98 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was up 1.08% or 0.75 points to 70.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which lost 5.77% or 3.32 points to trade at 54.21 in late trade. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) declined 3.07% or 2.16 points to end at 68.20 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) shed 2.73% or 2.07 points to 73.62.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 314 to 201 and 195 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.46% or 0.65 to $44.01 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.77% or 0.82 to hit $45.53 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.09% or 1.15 to trade at $1304.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.26% to 4.3285, while USD/PLN rose 0.14% to 3.8933.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 97.07.
