Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.11%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Lafargeholcim Ltd (PA:LHN), which rose 2.90% or 1.29 points to trade at 45.76 at the close. AXA SA (PA:AXAF) added 2.63% or 0.47 points to end at 18.11 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) was up 2.20% or 0.175 points to 8.142 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Danone SA (PA:DANO), which lost 2.14% or 1.49 points to trade at 68.15 in late trade. Kering SA (PA:PRTP) declined 1.39% or 2.40 points to end at 170.10 and Airbus Group (PA:AIR) shed 1.29% or 0.66 points to 50.34.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which rose 9.95% to 21.0000, Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was up 5.67% to settle at 3.408 and Europcar Groupe SA (PA:EUCAR) which gained 3.62% to close at 7.51.
The worst performers were Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which was down 2.25% to 36.885 in late trade, Danone SA (PA:DANO) which lost 2.14% to settle at 68.15 and Eurofins Scientific (PA:EUFI) which was down 1.68% to 380.15 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 357 to 307 and 105 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 1.10% to 18.11.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.10% or 1.35 to $1343.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.89% or 1.21 to hit $43.01 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.51% or 1.11 to trade at $45.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.1077, while EUR/GBP rose 0.13% to 0.8495.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 96.37.
