Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 1.56% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA), which rose 1.16% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.87 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu) added 0.11% or 0.0070 points to end at 6.5670 and Portugal Telecom (LISBON:PTC) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.0000 points to 0.5000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA), which lost 6.32% or 0.1650 points to trade at 2.4450 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS) declined 6.22% or 0.2540 points to end at 3.8280 and Semapa (LISBON:SEM) shed 3.53% or 0.4825 points to 13.1675.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 59 to 9 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was up 3.97% or 2.48 to $65.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 3.88% or 2.24 to hit $59.92 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1189.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.0984, while EUR/GBP rose 0.66% to 0.7195.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 97.01.
