Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 1.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which rose 6.38% or 0.40 points to trade at 6.67 at the close. Enea SA (WA:ENAE) added 4.27% or 0.51 points to end at 12.44 and mBank (WA:MBK) was up 3.23% or 13.55 points to 433.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which lost 3.92% or 8.65 points to trade at 212.10 in late trade. Synthos SA (WA:SNS) declined 1.40% or 0.070 points to end at 4.920 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) shed 0.87% or 0.030 points to 3.410.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 270 to 266 and 173 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 3.58% or 1.84 to $49.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 3.39% or 1.83 to hit $52.13 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.29% or 3.65 to trade at $1256.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.06% to 4.1760, while USD/PLN fell 0.10% to 3.7212.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 97.02.
