Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 2.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Valmt (HEL:VALMT), which rose 0.61% or 0.06 points to trade at 9.04 at the close. Tieto Oyj (HEL:TIE1V) fell 0.79% or 0.18 points to end at 22.71 and Konecranes Oyj (HEL:KCR1V) was down 0.82% or 0.23 points to 27.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HEL:OUT1V), which lost 8.13% or 0.3120 points to trade at 3.5260 in late trade. Outotec Oyj (HEL:OTE1V) declined 4.84% or 0.251 points to end at 4.934 and KONE Oyj (HEL:KNEBV) shed 3.83% or 1.35 points to 33.93.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 148 to 28 and 2 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 8.68% or 4.70 to $49.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 7.84% or 3.85 to hit $45.34 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.64% or 7.20 to trade at $1139.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.71% to 1.1293, while EUR/GBP rose 0.96% to 0.7378.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.52% at 95.46.
