Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Metal Products & Machinery, Holdings & Investments and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 3.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Zorlu Enerji (IS:ZOREN), which rose 3.64% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.710 at the close. Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) added 1.26% or 0.040 points to end at 3.210 and Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) was up 1.03% or 0.010 points to 0.980 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ford Otosan (IS:FROTO), which lost 7.64% or 2.64 points to trade at 31.92 in late trade. Tofas Oto. Fab. (IS:TOASO) declined 7.07% or 1.72 points to end at 22.60 and Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO) shed 6.33% or 0.100 points to 1.480.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 329 to 37 and 38 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 4.68% or 59.10 to $1322.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 4.39% or 2.20 to hit $47.91 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 4.48% or 2.28 to trade at $48.63 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 2.53% to 2.9257, while EUR/TRY rose 0.20% to 3.2575.
The US Dollar Index was up 2.33% at 95.50.
