Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 2.37% or 0.305 points to trade at 13.155 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 1.40% or 0.30 points to end at 21.73 and NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) was up 1.20% or 0.48 points to 40.83 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which lost 1.83% or 0.46 points to trade at 24.62 in late trade. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 1.11% or 0.13 points to end at 11.59 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) shed 0.45% or 0.21 points to 46.51.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 77 to 69 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.27% or 3.35 to $1220.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.35% or 1.02 to hit $42.39 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.17% or 0.97 to trade at $43.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.16% to 1.0728, while EUR/GBP fell 0.37% to 0.8596.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.11% at 100.09.
