Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Basic Materials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.75% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which rose 4.51% or 1.85 points to trade at 42.86 at the close. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 3.75% or 0.3000 points to end at 8.3000 and Valmt (HE:VALMT) was up 2.26% or 0.32 points to 14.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA), which lost 3.18% or 0.99 points to trade at 30.11 in late trade. Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) declined 2.83% or 0.150 points to end at 5.150 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) shed 1.78% or 0.65 points to 35.78.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 76 to 60 and 15 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.04% or 0.02 to $53.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $51.00 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 3.05% or 35.45 to trade at $1128.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.33% to 1.0394, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8375.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.24% at 103.30.
