Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 2.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which rose 5.67% or 2.65 points to trade at 49.40 at the close. Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) added 1.69% or 0.10 points to end at 6.00 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was up 1.44% or 0.60 points to 42.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Boryszew SA (WA:BORY), which lost 10.65% or 0.62 points to trade at 5.20 in late trade. Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) declined 3.70% or 5.95 points to end at 155.00 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) shed 3.31% or 2.60 points to 75.93.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 376 to 186 and 90 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 7.88% or 3.88 to $45.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 8.70% or 4.71 to hit $49.44 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.64% or 7.20 to trade at $1139.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.43% to 4.2493, while USD/PLN fell 0.37% to 3.7615.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.54% at 95.44.
