Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Healthcare and Construction & Engineering sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which rose 24.99% or 449.90 points to trade at 2249.90 at the close. Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) added 16.67% or 0.100 points to end at 0.700 and Lanka Ventures PLC (CM:LVEN) was up 13.74% or 5.80 points to 48.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which lost 20.00% or 0.10 points to trade at 0.50 in late trade. Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ) declined 19.98% or 499.40 points to end at 2000.00 and Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) shed 16.92% or 385.00 points to 1890.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 104 to 98 and 21 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.35% or 0.14 to $41.59 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.29% or 0.13 to hit $44.69 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.32% or 3.50 to trade at $1080.10 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.46% to 217.090, while USD/LKR rose 0.43% to 142.825.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 99.58.
