Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Telecoms and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 9.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr), which rose 29.17% or 0.021 points to trade at 0.093 at the close. Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) added 29.17% or 0.021 points to end at 0.093 and Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr) was up 28.68% or 0.11 points to 0.49 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dromeas (AT:DROr), which lost 11.11% or 0.016 points to trade at 0.128 in late trade. Kleeman Hellas (AT:KLEr) declined 6.25% or 0.10 points to end at 1.50 and Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) shed 2.44% or 0.15 points to 6.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 67 to 31 and 2 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 1.61% or 18.60 to $1135.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.43% or 1.31 to hit $39.55 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.59% or 1.10 to trade at $43.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.78% to 1.1412, while EUR/GBP fell 1.29% to 0.7271.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.33% at 94.63.
