Investing.com -- The number of Americans filing for unemployment insurance fell by more than expected last week, according to Labor Department data on Thursday.
Seasonally-adjusted initial jobless claims in the U.S. dropped to 222,000 during the week ending on November 12, down from an upwardly revised reading of 226,000 and below economists' estimates of 225,000.
The four-week moving average, which aims to account for volatility in the numbers, grew to 221,000 from last week's level of 219,000.
