LONDON (Reuters) - Britain's Office for National Statistics will delay the publication of retail sales data for August, originally scheduled for Sept. 14, because of technical issues, it said on Wednesday.
"ONS has experienced a delay in processing survey data from the Retail Sales Inquiry," it said a statement.
"There is no risk to the security of the data, but in order to complete the necessary processing and quality assurance to meet ONS's highest standards, it is necessary to postpone the publication of the Retail Sales Index data and bulletin for August."
The ONS said it would announce a new publication date as soon as the problems are resolved.
