Investing.com - Britain’s annual economic growth for the first quarter met consensus expectations, according to figures released by the Office for National Statistics on Friday.
GDP grew by 1.2% on a year-to-year basis in the quarter, in line with expectations.
On a quarterly basis, growth came in at 0.2%, from an earlier estimate of 0.1%.
Economists had expected no change.
Year-on-year, business investment went unrevised as expected at 2.0% growth for the January to March period.
However, business investment declined 0.4% from the prior quarter, a downward revision from the initial 0.2% drop. Analysts had forecast no change to the prior estimate.
Meanwhile, the index of services in the U.K. rose 0.2%, lower than the prior reading of 0.3%, but higher that the flat reading that was expected.
