The Index of Services measures the change in the total Gross Added Value (GAV) of the government and private services sector. GVA is the difference between the value of a service provided and the value of the goods and services used to provide the service.

A reading that is stronger than forecast is generally supportive (bullish) for the GBP, while a weaker than forecast reading is generally negative (bearish) for the GBP.
