Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Goods and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL), which rose 9.18% or 0.780 points to trade at 9.280 at the close. Abengoa B (MC:ABGek) added 2.30% or 0.019 points to end at 0.868 and ACS Const. (MC:ACS) was up 2.00% or 0.575 points to 29.340 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gamesa (MC:GAM), which lost 2.96% or 0.407 points to trade at 13.342 in late trade. Telefonica (MC:TEF) declined 2.61% or 0.297 points to end at 11.092 and Indra A (MC:IDR) shed 1.90% or 0.183 points to 9.464.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 121 to 93 and 8 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.96% or 11.20 to $1176.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.86% or 0.40 to hit $46.26 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.38% or 0.19 to trade at $49.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.56% to 1.1443, while EUR/GBP fell 0.74% to 0.7407.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.60% at 94.23.
