MADRID(Reuters) - Spanish EU-harmonised consumer prices fell by 0.5 percent year-on-year in August, preliminary data from the National Statistics Institute (INE) showed on Friday, compared with a consensus forecast of -0.2 percent and a July reading of 0.0 percent.
INE data also showed Spain's national consumer price index fell by 0.4 percent in August on an annual basis, after a rise of 0.1 percent in July.
