Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.83%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which rose 6.63% or 0.262 points to trade at 4.216 at the close. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 2.31% or 0.0900 points to end at 3.9900 and Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V) was up 2.21% or 0.31 points to 14.33 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which lost 0.35% or 0.11 points to trade at 31.59 in late trade. Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) declined 0.24% or 0.09 points to end at 37.29 and Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) 0.00% or 0.00 points to 37.38.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 127 to 44 and 15 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 3.05% or 1.49 to $47.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.99% or 1.42 to hit $46.01 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.53% or 7.25 to trade at $1359.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.31% to 1.1065, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.8566.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.17% at 96.29.
