Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Materials and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.11%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO), which rose 2.36% or 2.340 points to trade at 101.570 at the close. Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) added 2.25% or 0.750 points to end at 34.140 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was up 1.82% or 0.340 points to 19.040 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which lost 2.57% or 0.580 points to trade at 22.020 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico (MX:GAPB) declined 2.03% or 3.750 points to end at 181.190 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) shed 1.62% or 0.710 points to 43.000.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 111 to 60 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.14% or 1.65 to $1213.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $48.98 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.28% or 0.14 to trade at $49.86 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.77% to 18.6722, while EUR/MXN rose 0.44% to 20.8176.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 95.55.
