Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu), which rose 2.39% or 0.1530 points to trade at 6.5420 at the close. Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) added 2.26% or 0.0120 points to end at 0.5430 and EDP (LISBON:EDP) was up 1.96% or 0.0670 points to 3.4860 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP), which lost 1.89% or 0.0015 points to trade at 0.0780 in late trade. Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI) declined 1.70% or 0.0180 points to end at 1.0380 and Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) shed 1.54% or 0.0001 points to 0.0064.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 36 to 29 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 0.80% or 0.49 to $62.51 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.90% or 0.51 to hit $57.47 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.49% or 5.70 to trade at $1163.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.1089, while EUR/GBP rose 0.37% to 0.7104.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 96.26.
