Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Transport, Wood, Paper & Printing and Information Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.81%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kordsa Global (IS:KORDS), which rose 3.99% or 0.21 points to trade at 5.47 at the close. Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) added 3.08% or 0.16 points to end at 5.35 and Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) was up 2.31% or 0.110 points to 4.880 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Turk Hava Yollari (IS:THYAO), which lost 6.80% or 0.510 points to trade at 6.990 in late trade. Pegasus (IS:PGSUS) declined 6.55% or 1.170 points to end at 16.700 and Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) shed 6.53% or 1.20 points to 17.18.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 275 to 84 and 52 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.02% or 0.30 to $1254.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.77% or 0.75 to hit $43.22 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.82% or 0.80 to trade at $44.83 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.65% to 2.8125, while EUR/TRY fell 0.94% to 3.1864.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 94.28.
