Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Software & Computer Services, Consumer Goods and Media sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 1.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Aegon (AS:AEGN), which rose 3.67% or 0.203 points to trade at 5.741 at the close. Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) added 3.18% or 0.23 points to end at 7.55 and OCI (AS:OCI) was up 2.96% or 0.665 points to 23.135 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 2.98% or 0.14 points to trade at 4.46 in late trade. Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) declined 0.24% or 0.10 points to end at 41.79 and ING Groep NV (AS:ING) shed 0.12% or 0.015 points to 12.985.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 140 to 38 and 5 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.87% to 23.07.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.30% or 0.13 to $42.74 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.75% or 0.34 to hit $45.77 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.26% or 2.80 to trade at $1071.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.0628, while EUR/GBP fell 0.41% to 0.7027.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 99.76.
