Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 4.56% or 0.0021 points to trade at 0.0482 at the close. Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA) added 2.09% or 0.0080 points to end at 0.3900 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was up 1.48% or 0.0170 points to 1.1690 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banif SA (LS:BANIF), which lost 30.77% or 0.0004 points to trade at 0.0009 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 2.06% or 0.1020 points to end at 4.8400 and Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) shed 1.89% or 0.0090 points to 0.4660.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 34 to 16 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 1.28% or 0.52 to $39.59 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.10% or 0.41 to hit $36.75 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.43% or 4.60 to trade at $1071.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.74% to 1.0941, while EUR/GBP fell 0.68% to 0.7212.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.56% at 97.88.
