Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banif SA (LS:BANIF), which rose 4.17% or 0.0001 points to trade at 0.0025 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 3.40% or 0.0017 points to end at 0.0517 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 1.44% or 0.0730 points to 5.1300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA), which lost 2.36% or 0.0120 points to trade at 0.4960 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 1.83% or 0.0390 points to end at 2.0870 and Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA) shed 1.49% or 0.0060 points to 0.3980.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 28 to 21 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 0.77% or 0.35 to $45.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.40% or 0.17 to hit $42.70 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.24% or 2.60 to trade at $1071.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.0626, while EUR/GBP fell 0.40% to 0.7028.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 99.78.
