Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.98%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Kemira Oyj (HE:KRA1V), which rose 4.02% or 0.39 points to trade at 9.96 at the close. Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) added 2.90% or 0.86 points to end at 30.54 and Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) was up 2.55% or 0.71 points to 28.59 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which lost 1.91% or 0.052 points to trade at 2.672 in late trade. Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V) declined 1.44% or 0.130 points to end at 8.915 and Metso Oyj (HE:MEO1V) shed 0.93% or 0.19 points to 20.14.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 114 to 60 and 15 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was up 0.72% or 0.25 to $34.75 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.30% or 0.40 to hit $31.06 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.83% or 10.00 to trade at $1221.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.1094, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.7743.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 96.97.
