Investing.com - Crude oil futures were lower in U.S. trading hours on Wednesday.
On the New York Mercantile Exchange, Crude oil futures for August delivery traded at USD51.33 a barrel at time of writing falling 3.23%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD51.22 a barrel. Crude oil was likely to find support at USD50.38 and resistance at USD53.93.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.51% to trade at USD97.30.
Elsewhere on the ICE, Brent oil for September delivery fell 2.74% to trade at USD57.08 a barrel, with the spread between the Brent oil and Crude oil contracts stood at USD5.75 a barrel.
