Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which rose 2.37% or 4.40 points to trade at 190.00 at the close. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 1.08% or 0.07 points to end at 6.58 and Synthos SA (WA:SNS) was up 1.06% or 0.05 points to 4.76 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH), which lost 2.49% or 2.60 points to trade at 101.90 in late trade. OrangePL (WA:OPL) declined 1.52% or 0.13 points to end at 8.40 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) shed 1.41% or 0.30 points to 21.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 290 to 249 and 132 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.71% or 0.36 to $50.55 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.00% or 0.01 to hit $56.92 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.12% or 12.80 to trade at $1131.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.14% to 4.1080, while USD/PLN rose 0.11% to 3.7875.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 97.99.
