Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Construction & Materials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.67% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which rose 5.91% or 0.42 points to trade at 7.60 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) added 1.91% or 1.50 points to end at 80.22 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was up 1.69% or 0.27 points to 16.23 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Befimmo-Sicafi (BR:BEFBb), which lost 0.44% or 0.270 points to trade at 60.420 in late trade. Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) declined 0.39% or 0.40 points to end at 101.10 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) shed 0.38% or 0.12 points to 31.39.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 111 to 43 and 5 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.58% or 6.60 to $1134.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.73% or 0.34 to hit $46.25 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.14% or 0.56 to trade at $48.99 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.14% to 1.1019, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.7144.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.05% at 96.95.
