Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Telecoms & IT and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.06% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which rose 2.02% or 0.395 points to trade at 19.975 at the close. Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) added 1.44% or 0.060 points to end at 4.219 and Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG) was up 1.40% or 0.096 points to 6.980 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Popular (MC:POP), which lost 2.42% or 0.054 points to trade at 2.173 in late trade. Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) declined 2.22% or 0.058 points to end at 2.552 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) shed 2.05% or 0.520 points to 24.860.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 124 to 84 and 17 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.47% or 5.80 to $1217.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.20% or 0.44 to hit $36.35 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 1.27% or 0.49 to trade at $38.18 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.1394, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.7981.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 94.52.
