Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 1.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were OCI (AS:OCI), which rose 5.62% or 0.880 points to trade at 16.530 at the close. Vopak (AS:VOPA) added 5.39% or 2.12 points to end at 41.45 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) was up 5.32% or 0.17 points to 3.29 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KPN Kon (AS:KPN), which lost 1.62% or 0.055 points to trade at 3.330 in late trade. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) declined 0.44% or 1.00 points to end at 227.55 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) shed 0.05% or 0.04 points to 74.36.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 115 to 48 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 6.07% to 27.86.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.87% or 0.62 to $33.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 2.47% or 0.87 to hit $36.16 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 1.40% or 17.30 to trade at $1221.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.85% to 1.0924, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.7877.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.75% at 98.17.
