Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Consumer Goods and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL), which rose 3.80% or 0.245 points to trade at 6.688 at the close. Bankia (MC:BKIA) added 1.70% or 0.019 points to end at 1.138 and Indra A (MC:IDR) was up 1.37% or 0.134 points to 9.870 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sacyr (MC:SCYR), which lost 3.35% or 0.076 points to trade at 2.205 in late trade. ACS Const. (MC:ACS) declined 2.98% or 0.895 points to end at 29.150 and Abengoa B (MC:ABGek) shed 2.35% or 0.023 points to 0.957.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 119 to 98 and 3 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.01% or 0.10 to $1080.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.44% or 1.02 to hit $40.73 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.34% or 0.60 to trade at $44.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.85% to 1.0724, while EUR/GBP fell 0.73% to 0.7051.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.67% at 99.23.
