Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Beverages & Tobacco, Telecoms and Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF), which rose 13.33% or 0.200 points to trade at 1.700 at the close. Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) added 12.96% or 3.90 points to end at 34.00 and Serendib Engineering Group PLC (CM:IDL) was up 12.86% or 0.90 points to 7.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Colombo City Holdings PLC (CM:PHAR), which lost 16.45% or 129.90 points to trade at 660.00 in late trade. Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) declined 10.29% or 7.00 points to end at 61.00 and Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML) shed 9.19% or 2.50 points to 24.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 96 to 75 and 50 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.63% or 0.28 to $43.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.63% or 0.29 to hit $45.80 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.45% or 6.00 to trade at $1325.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.69% to 192.300, while USD/LKR rose 0.44% to 146.470.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.05% at 97.36.
