Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Automobiles & Parts, Gas & Water and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.38%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which rose 4.22% or 3.62 points to trade at 89.35 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) added 3.98% or 0.20 points to end at 5.28 and Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB) was up 1.98% or 0.76 points to 38.94 in late trade.
Biggest losers included LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA (PA:LVMH), which lost 1.00% or 1.70 points to trade at 167.90 in late trade. Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) declined 0.98% or 1.05 points to end at 106.15 and Kering SA (PA:PRTP) shed 0.86% or 1.45 points to 167.10.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Solocal Group (PA:LOCAL) which rose 15.64% to 8.570, Zodiac Aerospace (PA:ZODC) which was up 5.46% to settle at 24.25 and Neopost (PA:NPOS) which gained 5.44% to close at 23.86.
The worst performers were Euler Hermes (PA:ELER) which was down 1.47% to 84.00 in late trade, Korian Medica SA (PA:KORI) which lost 1.47% to settle at 33.900 and Euronext (PA:ENX) which was down 1.39% to 39.42 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 432 to 306 and 44 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 2.23% to 20.26.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.56% or 6.40 to $1135.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.82% or 0.38 to hit $46.21 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.24% or 0.61 to trade at $48.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1021, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.7146.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 96.93.
