Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Property, Banking & Financials and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM), which rose 4.00% or 0.400 points to trade at 10.400 at the close. Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) added 2.29% or 0.120 points to end at 5.370 and Alliance Globa (PS:AGI) was up 2.05% or 0.500 points to 24.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Globe Telecom (PS:GLO), which lost 3.92% or 100.000 points to trade at 2450.000 in late trade. Lt Group (PS:LTG) declined 2.84% or 0.440 points to end at 15.060 and Universal Robi (PS:URC) shed 2.66% or 5.600 points to 205.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 104 to 96 and 15 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.20% or 2.40 to $1227.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.92% or 0.56 to hit $61.09 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.67% or 0.45 to trade at $67.25 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.03% to 7.1711, while USD/PHP fell 0.01% to 44.490.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 93.74.
