Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 4.17% or 0.0070 points to trade at 0.1750 at the close. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) added 2.40% or 0.0170 points to end at 0.7240 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 2.19% or 0.3150 points to 14.6700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 2.82% or 0.0327 points to trade at 1.1251 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 1.00% or 0.0570 points to end at 5.6640 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) shed 0.95% or 0.0560 points to 5.8540.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 29 to 19 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.94% or 0.51 to $54.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.46% or 0.24 to hit $51.92 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.56% or 6.55 to trade at $1171.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.82% to 1.0750, while EUR/GBP rose 0.91% to 0.8458.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.51% at 100.24.
