Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Investment Trust, Telecoms and Motors sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE), which rose 11.11% or 0.10 points to trade at 1.00 at the close. Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) added 11.11% or 0.100 points to end at 1.000 and CT Land Development PLC (CM:CTLD) was up 10.63% or 5.10 points to 53.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which lost 20.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.4000 in late trade. Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO) declined 16.53% or 9.90 points to end at 50.00 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) shed 15.38% or 0.200 points to 1.100.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 118 to 68 and 59 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.43% or 0.23 to $54.24 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.57% or 0.32 to hit $56.83 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.64% or 8.05 to trade at $1245.85 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.64% to 187.195, while USD/LKR fell 0.20% to 151.310.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 101.70.
