Benzinga - Ivan Bianco, a blockchain gaming YouTuber from Brazil, has reportedly fallen victim to a theft resulting in the loss of nearly $60,000 worth of cryptocurrency and a collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

What Happened: The incident occurred after Bianco accidentally revealed the seed phrases to his crypto wallets during a livestream.

During the livestream, Bianco unknowingly displayed a document containing his seed phrases, which allowed unidentified individuals to gain control of his wallets and allegedly steal his crypto assets.

Fraternidade Crypto, the YouTube channel operated by Bianco, has around 34,000 subscribers and has accumulated over 2.2 million views across all videos since its inception in 2017.

Subsequently, in another livestream, Bianco was visibly emotional as he explained that upon realizing his seed phrases had been exposed, he attempted to create a new wallet. However, within minutes, funds from two of his wallets had already been siphoned by the perpetrators.

Why It Matters: Bianco disclosed the address of the Polygon wallet that transferred approximately 86,600 Polygon (CRYPTO: MATIC) tokens, valued at around $50,800 at the time of the theft. Additionally, an amount of 3.35 Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH), equivalent to $5,750, remains trapped in someone else’s wallet on Arbitrum, as reported by the streamer. Small portions of other cryptocurrencies were also allegedly taken by different users.

Following the theft, Bianco claimed that an unidentified individual contacted him on Discord. They had a conversation during which the person admitted to stealing the crypto and expressed remorse for their actions. Despite having information about the thief’s identity, Bianco chose not to disclose it, as the individual decided to return the stolen funds voluntarily.

“I won’t say his name, because the guy returned it and there’s no reason for me to expose him, even though what he did was wrong,” Bianco said, as reported by Decrypt.
