Benzinga - Tech giant Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has officially announced the launch of its much-awaited iPhone 15 series at an event held at Apple Park. The latest lineup promises significant enhancements in both performance and design compared to the previous iPhone 14 series.

What Happened: iPhone enthusiasts may recall that in 2011, when the iPhone 4s was released, its price tag amounted to a staggering 162 BTC, data from CoinGecko reveals. At that time, Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) was still in its early stages and not as widely recognized as it is today.

As the years went by, the price of iPhones in Bitcoin witnessed significant variations. The iPhone 5 was valued at around 53 BTC, followed by the iPhone 5s at approximately 5 BTC. With the release of the iPhone 6, the price dropped to 1.7 BTC. The subsequent release of the iPhone 6s saw a slight increase to 2.8 BTC.

Why It Matters: In 2016, the iPhone 7 entered the market with a price of around 1.1 BTC, followed by the iPhone 8 at 0.19 BTC. The introduction of the iPhone X in 2017 marked a significant milestone, as it was priced at approximately 0.14 BTC.

The following years saw incremental changes in iPhone prices measured in Bitcoin. The iPhone XS was valued at around 0.15 BTC, while the iPhone 11 saw a decrease to 0.068 BTC. In 2020, the introduction of the iPhone 12 saw another decline to 0.051 BTC.

Looking ahead to the future, it’s interesting to note that Bitcoin’s increasing adoption and market maturity influenced the prices of the more recent iPhone models. The iPhone 13 was priced at approximately 0.018 BTC, while the projected price of the upcoming iPhone 14 stands at around 0.042 BTC and iPhone 15 at 0.031 BTC, which goes to $799.

At current price, 0.0031 BTC is equivalent to 3099882.541 satoshis.Satoshis are the smallest unit of bitcoin, representing a fraction of one bitcoin. One Satoshi is equivalent to 0.00000001 BTC.
