Benzinga - Roger Ver, CEO of Bitcoin.com on Wednesday said he upgraded his home internet to handle Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) NFTs Ordinals.

What Happened: In a screenshot shared by Ver, popularly known as ‘Bitcoin Jesus’ on Twitter, it shows that he upgraded his internet connection to 9747 Mbps just to mint an Ordinal on the Bitcoin blockchain.

Later in the day, Ver explained that he was mocking Ordinals and Bitcoin maximalists who say “bigger blocks to accommodate Ordinal NFTs is fine”.

He argued that Bitcoin Cash (CRYPTO: BCH) fans have been using “bigger blocks for years.” It shows “what a bunch of hypocrites the BTC maximalists are.”

BCH boasts 32 megabytes to Bitcoin’s 1 megabyte in block size. However, with Ordinals, the mean size of transactions on a BTC block has increased more than 100% to 2.5 megabytes.

On Feb.24, Ver tweeted that If BTC ever raises the block size, it will prove that the BCH camp was right all along. “If BTC never raises the block size, it will never be permissionless cash for the world,” he added.

Price Action: At the time of writing, BTC was trading at $23,486 down 0.91%, in the last 24 hours, according to Benzinga Pro.
