Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Real Estate and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 1.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which rose 5.59% or 0.39 points to trade at 7.32 at the close. Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) added 0.64% or 0.15 points to end at 23.50 and Vopak (AS:VOPA) was up 0.62% or 0.24 points to 39.93 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which lost 9.35% or 1.33 points to trade at 12.94 in late trade. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) declined 3.91% or 9.75 points to end at 239.65 and Aalberts Industries (AS:AALB) shed 2.77% or 0.88 points to 30.87.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 137 to 39 and 2 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 9.05% to 24.25.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 3.31% or 1.38 to $43.13 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 3.29% or 1.48 to hit $46.30 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.78% or 8.30 to trade at $1075.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.14% to 1.0652, while EUR/GBP rose 0.68% to 0.7070.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 99.63.
